After years of sanctions against Iran, international flights to the country have resumed.
An Air France passenger plane arrived Sunday at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, ABC said. It was the first Air France jet to fly into Iran in eight years.
Aboard the flight were 15 representatives from French businesses, French Transport Minister Alain Vidalies told ABC.
The Iran nuclear deal that limited Iranian nuclear activities went into effect in January, making the flight - and other international flights to Tehran - possible.
Some Iranians have said that the deal has not yet benefited the Middle Eastern country, ABC reported. But the resumption of international flights to Iran should boost its economy by attracting western tourists and investors.
Air France will offer flights to Iran three times a week, ABC said. Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa will operate several flights each week between Europe and Iran.

British Airways will add Tehran - London 7/16/16.
