An Air France flight carrying 232 people from CDG to JFK was forced to land in KEF Monday after the pilot fell ill, the Keflavik airport said.
"The security landing -- not an emergency landing -- of the Air France Boeing 777 was due to an ill pilot," airport spokeswoman Hjordis Gudmundsdottir told AFP, adding the landing had not been dramatic.
Flight AF 022, which left Paris at 8:50 am local time (0750 GMT) on-route to New York's JFK airport, had landed at Keflavik at 1320 GMT, she said, providing no further details on the pilot's condition.
A spokeswoman for the airport's international ground services also refused to comment on what was wrong with the pilot.
"I can only tell you that the plane will leave Keflavik to go to New York tomorrow morning at 1030 GMT.
