We are trying the same trip this month on Oct 22. Coach is limited, but first is wide open. Can anyone give me some advice on how or if we can get upgraded to first on a zed fare?

    Thanks

Ans insider on AA might have more info, but I was under the impression AA does not move OAL employees up front. I have done AA long haul out of both DFW and JFK and we were offloaded onto coach. I was just happy to make it onto the plane. I'm sure an AA insider will be able to provide a bit more insight.

DL doesn't upgrade OALs but there is a flight from CVG/CDG several times a week that works pretty well for nonrevs off-season. Just an FYI tip.
I have seen DL put OALs in new premium economy or whatever they call it now

ZED fares are valid in economy cabin only, so it is unlikely you'll receive a upgrade on the AA flight. This flight, by the way, does not have a first class cabin, busines and economy only.

I also work for aa-what AAZED is absolutely correct. OAL probably coach. Our planes have been overbooked like crazy and there are Schedule Changes every minute making minimal routes and discontinuation of some routes altogether (AVP for example) We all will be happy just to get on the plane now a days. We've had somewhere around 200 pilots retire in the last like 2 months. So your best bet is to call in to the Non Rev line or even the regular 800 line to check flight loads before you fly! Good luck-We are all going to need it now!
