    Post DFW Impacted by Storms

    DFW Impacted by Storms
The (April 3) storms that passed through the DFW area continue to impact AA operations there, non rev travel through DFW is discouraged through April 9.

I was in PHL yesterday connecting through and was passing by terminal A, the AA flight info display screen on flights to DFW was showing either CX or heavily delayed. The best to everyone over in the DFW, some bad storms passed through the area.

    Regards,

So far AA & Eagle have cxl about 1,600 flights
I’ve got some family members and a Forum member going into DFW; things do not look good, in fact they look downright terrible. --weather gremlins!

If you/they have the ability...SWA is still operating a normal schedule into Love. Just an idea if they are needing to get to the metroplex.

As the crow flies, 10 miles. It's just north of downtown Dallas.

In a situation like that, it is always important to know some escape route via other connections that's why this website helps (however sometimes it needs some updates):

Right you are Zedman - never travel without backup plans. Only this time, the non-rev gremlins have been wreaking havoc with plan a, b, c, d, and e. DFW shut down, out of service planes, cxl/delayed flights, equipment changes, it's a holiday week-end and there's was a full moon.
This time I needed more than a backup plan I needed a crystal ball. *wink*

While we're talking about making backup plans, Wikipedia is an AWESOME source for knowing direct destinations from any airport. The only issue is that "direct" does not necessarily mean "nonstop" but in many cases it does (and is easy to find out). For example, Guam shows up as a United destination from ORD, even though that flight is actually GUM-HNL-ORD. On the other hand, sometimes if I want to find a halfway city when going hub to hub (for example, ORD-CID-DEN) I can compare some of those lesser-known cities and get some ideas for what's doable.
