    Default D3 Travel for XMAS

    Hi All,

Planning on leaving our of DFW on Christmas Day and returning New YEars Day. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on direct flights to anywhere in Europe where it isnt so busy and I have a better chance of getting out and in.

AMS usually has great options with JFK, DTW, MSP, MCO and MIA to get back. Are you flying with AA?

I'd consider returning New Year's Eve Day, which is Monday. More people will have to get back to work on Wed, so Tuesday is usually a heavy travel day. (watch loads for that Sunday, too--you might catch a break for same reason as Monday
Any major city that has Christmas markets will be very busy thru New Yrs. Love the canal wine cruises in AMS, tho!

LHR has the most flight availability for AA. There are several alternates besides DFW - BOS, JFK, MIA, ORD, RDU & LAX if you don't get on the DFW flight. Since corporate HQ is in DFW, you may be competing with hq employees who are traveling on positive space travel in addition to standby D1 & D2 nonrevs. Also, any D3 starting out in another city would be listed as D3T and be ahead of you on the list.
