    Nick,
I can leave at anytime starting from July 5th. What is your suggestion. Do you think it's better to nonrev in july or august?
    Thanks.

Hi Maltese, sorry for the delay... are you Maltese? I dated a half British half Maltese girl once, wow that was a while ago.

    As for the loads:

    LAXHKG ~ 5th July
5/6/7/8 look full down back already
    9th - CX883 looks good
10th - all three flts (CX881/CX885/CX883) look good with >50 seats
11th - both flights look good

    SFO-HKG ~5th July
    5/6/7/8/9 -quite full aready
10/11/12th - looking better, but not as good as LAX

HKG-BKK - fine all those days

August looks good, but results skewed as it is so far away!

Hi Nick, thanks for the reply. I think we are going to try the YVR-HKF-KUL route on the 22nd....We have an agreement on MH, but their flt goes througth Japan, and I'd rather avoid that!
Our back up plan would be to fly on BR, and our only concern now is getting back from HKG. I hear it can be difficult, esp. in the summer time. I'm planning on flying out on the 28/29/30 and can do SFO/YVR/LAX. Any tips on the best dates/routes??
    Thanks a million!

Can you postpone to depart around 25th/26th? Loads are bad before then but improve out of YVR around this time.
    SFO-HKG = bad (20-25th)
    LAX-HKG = bad (20-25th)
Basically economy is oversold, biz and first look good on face value but all the oversells will slot in there somewhere. I can check closer to time for a better picture if you'd like.
YVR-HKG = OK on 22nd, Bad on 23rd, CX839/24Jun is excellent, 25th both flights look excellent

    HKG-KUL = CX721/22Jun, CX623/23Jun, CX721/24Jun, CX725/25th Jun, CX721/26Jun all look good.

Do you have an agreement with Malaysian (MH) or Sri Lankan (UL)? OAG shows they both fly direct LAXKUL!!!

    Hi, sorry for late reply
    HKGSFO
No good on all days mentioned
    HKGLAX
    28th = no good, 29th = very average, but possibility, 30th = no good
    HKGYVR
    28th = not a chance, 29th = no good, 30th = not a chance

Might want to start looking at other options...

What happened to the airasia x service from oakland - kuala lumpur? It started last year and when I google I see no info about it stopping, but the air asia site doens't display it as a destination. :/

Oh what a fool I am... I take Friday off to go home for a long weekend, and forget it's end of school hols. QF/BA to SYD are oversold (and around 15 nonrevs listed ahead of me), MEL is oversold, BNE is oversold, EK to MEL is oversold also. PER is open but silly me forgot to buy a PERMEL zed didn't he?

Sigh.... and the last flight outa SIN on CX is 25mins after i finish work, too close to make.

Well I learned a lesson last week - never forget to check if it's school holidays somewhere on your travel route. It was end of Australian school hols, so the flights were packed!

I took the Friday off so i could leave here thurs night, I stood by for QF to MEL&SYD, BA to SYD and EK to MEL and didn't get on any.

Luckily a SYD flight was delayed until 7am the next morn, so I made that. Then I got to SYD at 4pm on Fri (worst day for nonrev), and they decided my bag was now 2kg too heavy for carryon. So I checked it and went to gate 13 to recheck. Overheard QF staff had been there since 11am, so how would I have a chance. Eventually we all clear on to a flight and I get to MEL but sure enough, no bag.

They then tell me "oh it's common on a fri night, they'll send it on the last flt" . So regardless it took until 5pm the next night to courier it to me.

Then I went to go back on Sunday and our flight went tech, so we were delayed 5hrs or so. They handed out meal vouchers so I went and got one and had some wine - met a venture capitalist, model and writer - was interesting mix. Got home at 3am iso 10pm had a few hrs sleep then work! What a weekend!!
