Costa Rica, Allegro Papagayo Resort is close to the LIR airport. Great for little ones. Grey sand beach (most of CR is) but great pools and good weather most of the year--no hurricanes! Rainy season varies--sometimes it's an hour shower or more.
Dolphin and monkey viewing--walking free or $5 boat trips in the bay.

Because you have little ones, you only need one room. Ask agent for the upgrade to ocean view. Recommend you ck for rooms overlooking the pool, near the tower--some are off to the side. It's a small place--with shuttle to rooms--almost everything is UPHILL!
The iguanas are all over the place, food is nice--make sure the adults get a night alone (with sitter) to eat at Italian or get the fried chicken for the kids--it's more than enough for 3-4 little ones and just excellent!
We took the $5 boat ride to see dolphins--they were all over. We took free walk w/guide thru "jungle" canopy right at resort---monkeys!! We also did the WitchesRock zipline (no little kids--but our youngest was so small he had to be taken on the lines--not enough weight! Don't miss that if you and the mrs like a bit of adventure. Rent a car, but get your insurance coverage thru credit card company like amex--they sell policy for $25 for the entire rental--otherwise, rental car agencies will hit you with the mandatory rates they offer. Do your research andget a good deal with the details in writing. We had a manual and it was really cheap, even if it didn't want to go up hills ...without a fight!
