A new airline, Trans Island Air 2000 (TIA), has commenced service from Saint Lucia to Grenada, Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Dominica, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has announced.
Chastanet told reporters Monday he understands that the airline would also have a service to Martinique.
“Obviously that is a very important initiative given the cost of travel and the level of complaints and even for my delegation to have gone to Grenada would have taken us eight hours, so we are now able to leave this afternoon and go non-stop to Grenada and be there is 22 minutes,” the former Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation stated Monday.
He explained that this represented a big difference in terms of facilitation and other costs.
TIA’s official website described the carrier as offering hassle-free travel.
“Trans Island Air is a revolutionized schedule and private charter aviation company. Our vision is to provide a relaxing, reliable and flexible flight experience,” according to the website.
