Who can travel with me?

As an airline pilot, I want to go on a cruise with my parents. With my children, wife and parents, it means that 6 of us will be traveling and we would have to have 2 separate cabins on the cruise. As I read around the Nonrev I see severe penalties if one is not a member, but no answer as to who can travel with me -- i.e. Parents, children, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters and so on. Please help if you know.

Are you talking about a PERX cruise? I've never done one, but I'm pretty certain you(as the employee) can reserve up to 2 cabins and put you drunken college buddy there if you want. Just not more than 2 cabins. However, it certainly wouldn't hurt to give PERX a call and inquire. I don't know if they pass them around the pilot break rooms, but if you're ever stuck in an outstation ops, there would probably be a copy sitting around.

theron--using a good agency like perx (who just consolidated with interline value vacations) or interlinetravel.com you can usually get more than one cabin on most cruise lines with only one employee ID.
You may want to investigate a Carnival sailing where you can get get 2 adjoining basic outside cabins for you/wife then kids and let your folks upgrade to the balcony one, so the kids can visit them and your folks can "hold court" (don't laugh--that's what my Mom did on our family cruise) and yet they get some privacy. Depends on the kids' ages but i can tell you those cabins can be really tights for 4...When we took my husband's kids, they got a sep room (they were around 8-10)
Definitely use a live agent and do your homework. I've been on over a dozen cruises. We're actually going on NCL this Jan. I do watch a lot of the email specials and have recently done some research into the new schedules and would be happy to offer some ideas. I get bulletins from several interline agencies.

Some thoguhts/questions:
Kids ages?
Parents ages/health, etc.
East coast or west departure port.
4 nights?
7 or more?
Snorkel, dive, swim, beach or adventure (ruins, etc)
Do you want island stops almost every day?
You have a good advantage that you're all a large enough group to get your own guide without having to pay the cruiseship prices for excursions in some cases.
