Default Overbooked. Can I get on this Flight?

So I am planning on going to Prague from JFK and on travelnet there are 20 seats in business and -17 in coach. Is there a good chance I could get on this flight? Since it is overbooked do you think if everybody shows up they will get upgraded to first class? Thanks for your help!

Is that -17 available or authorized? If available, I think you'd have a good chance, since you aren't accounting for no-shows. Even if it's just authorized, that's still +3 seats, so you might have a chance if you have a party of 1-2 and your standby list is empty.

Are you still planning on September 4th? If so pay attention to tomorrows (August 28) flight for a reference as the numbers are similar and its the same day of the week. If you look at the airport standby list for the 4th it shows a total of over 50 seats. Right now the flight looks fine. Just check on Thursday or so to see if plans need to be shifted a day one way or the other. Doubtful that business will fill up, only thing to really keep an eye on is the standby list and HK's come September 3rd. Tony

Just watch the flight in travelnet for a few days, you will see that not everyone shows. That includes the non-revs. The policy is not to put coach pax into business. It may be done in some cases but its not the rule. While you are in PRG could you check at the Delta ticket counter, see if it is possible to buy ZED tickets there.

Buy your zeds at JFK or in the States at our counters. PRG staff is not DL, so you can't count on them issuing zeds.
Lately, they have not been moving HK's up front and nonrevs are getting biz. Good luck! Have a great time in a fabulous city

So far, your seats look promising, but there could be an EARL factor getting TO JFK on SAT
Sunday numbers look good, too (short nonrev list for now)
I just checked last night's flt and OUCH: 28 HK's.
All 3 nonrevs got biz, tho, so they HAD to move some revs up front
