    Default Delta Job

Hey everybody, My dad has been working for Delta for 22 years and he received an email telling employees that there are jobs available for ticket agents at Delta and to tell their friends and family. Where would I go to apply for these jobs? Thank you!

Probably online. Specifically, here: Delta - Airport Customer Service — Ticketing/Gate Agents

Good luck! Oh, and be sure to make it clear that you're related to an employee, as that's a HUGE foot in the door. When I started working for NW, everyone was shocked that I did NOT have someone to "let me in"

Sbowen3 you know, you could cast your net a little wider and apply for this "quality hunter" job with Finnair. Rethink Quality » The Quality Hunters

I'm thinking Mrs767 already has her application posted. *wink*

I already have investigated but, it's better suited to my 32 yr old nephew who loves to travel but can't afford much...
DL is in need of Dutch speakers for FA positions.
there is an aviation expo in LAS next month--check w/jetcareers for info
You're almost guaranteed an interview slot w/family member that senior. not job but likely a face to face. GO!!!

Have your dad get on ebids and refer you for any job you would be interested in...if you apply without the employee referral link you could end up lost in peoplesoft, unfortunately...there is no way to add the referal once you create your profile and apply for the job...

    Default Nepotism

Whereas nepotism is frowned alot in the Civil Service, and government, NEPOTISM seems to be encouraged in the airlines. I know alot of husband and wife teams, sons, daughters, uncles, nephews working in the airlines. I've seen it at work first hand too, guy getting on the phone trying to get his somebody hired. Like a previous poster, I too had ZERO help in getting into the airlines. I did it the hard way. Had to show my military discharge papers and characterization of discharge, schooling, and licenseure. I've often wondered why I had to show this to get hired while others showed what? Could talk a good game?

My dad doesn't have access to ebid because he recently retired and is at IBM now, but he did retire with delta and still has benefits. Is there any other way to look for jobs?

Does your dad know anyone from DL that he could talk to? That might help a bit, though I'm not sure what position your dad had or if it'd be at all relevant for a reference like that.

Apply at deltajobs and good luck. I had no help getting into the airlines when I started with Northwest 12 years ago. At dca we are hiring off the streets as well as family, friends and transfres. We are adding a bunch of new flights at the end of Oct. It's gonna be an adventure.

sorry, i thought your father was still employed...as far as I know only active employees can refer applicants...maybe some of your dad's old buddies could refer you...
when the referral is being done it doesn't matter what dept the employee is in or what job you are being referred too...it all goes to peoplesoft and applicants who apply via the referral link are closer to the top and your application is less likely to get lost in the shuffle...We have received over 200,000 applications over the summer for open Reservations, inflight and airport positions...
