You are awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time out and doing this for me. I will definitely remind them about the regular fee, and the activation fee!!! I just hope I can use my passes that I have left now, before my new yearly cycle comes around on Sept 1, 2011.
I heard if I just book them before they get thrown away, and the new ones start....I can still use them up to a year before they are not good anymore.
If I am wrong, please correct me. Other to that I will go ahead and activate and book there tickets before September 1st! You are so awesome. Thank You Thank You Thank YOU!!!!!

If your passes for 2011 expire in September, they are good for a year from DOH. We always use Boss' (that's hubby) passes the year prior (usually assigned/paid a few days before his annviersary) Then get our buddies to give their credit card, booking the closest connection to major gateway (as in some live CVG so we book to ATL or JFK for around $100--same for SFO/SLC $98 etc) then the $25 fee get added for different destination--sometimes IST or BKK or...) and they pay the differnce when it's time to travel. They have a year to go somewhere and if they don't, they get a refund! Works like a charm! We still have 8 passes to use thru the year for emergencies. If no one wants a pass they go kablooie after the anniversary and that's ok too.
You are TRES welcome!!

Omg....is that the case? Then I don't want my buddy passes to go to waste or atleast keep the new ones for myself and family. I rather let them book on the older ones.
If you could, can you pls see how much a buddy pass ticket would be from Msp-LGW (I think delta only flys to London Gathwick directly, if they do to heathrow that would be better) Same thing again, but around the middle of April for two weeks/14 days. I know March and beginning of April is spring break, so right after that. Business or First Class. I'm so sorry to bug you again....promise I won't ask anymore. Once they go ahead and let me get there tickets then I can check it myself.
But my best friend wants to go in April of next year...so if I can book the other two from these passes, I can save the other ones. Sorry again to bug you. But if you can't then no problem. I really already appreciate that you have done so much for me already, without even knowing me. Thanks a million again!

MSP only has flights to LHR on DL. Sun Country has a couple flights to LGW, but that's another story altogether.
Too early to tell for that date range, but cost right now is 123.89 MSP-LHR, $288.03 LHR-MSP = 411.92 round trip. There's only one price, and they put you in first/business if they have the space. If not, you're still paying a lot less than what most people would pay on a flight to Europe, even in Y.

$465 MSP/LHR
I would book MSP/DTW now and secure the "old" pass to use within the next year, using your buddy's card, for the April trip. It will cost them $25 to change to MSP/LHR + mileage--total $490. He won't have to pay the $465 until he flies but you aren't burning a new pass for him.
We do have service ATL/LGW, and taxes are slightly lower. (Easter is April 8 BTW)
Here's a tip: when you want to find route info--go to the interactive map on either delta.com or travelnet--zoom in to destination city, click on it and it will show all DL flts. That way you can find alternatives to connect if your preferred gateway is sold out/overbooked.
It's a great deal to use the old ones! I book all 8 at once (that takes some time!) Make sure you have legal name, accurate DOB, etc (as on passport) because you can't change that part once they "expire". As in Buddy A and B each get pass on hold. B doesn't want to use his, you can't reissue it to another Buddy. Buddy A wants another one, you have to use a current year pass.

Thank you guys so much for your help!!! You guys are awesome. Especially mrs767er thank you for going into detail. It really helps to know all this info, and not let my old tickets go to waste or my new ones!!! God bless you guys...and please wish me, as I wish you guys luck. How long have you been with the airlines or your partners?

I've been with SkyWest for just over a year now, though I'd tried to get a job at the tiny airport I work at for about a year and a half beforehand. It took a long time before they had a position open when I could go through training. I also worked at NW for a summer about 3 years ago, and that was an absolute blast. It really is an addicting industry, and I'm going to try to get a programming position with an airline once I graduate.

Boss has 24 yrs and flies INT as Captain. I'm retired and do all our travel plans--all he does is ask what to pack. Married 6 yrs, been traveling myself for nearly 40 (gosh, I'm getting old!) That's more years than Spongbue has lived!
PS--I'm probably a litlle high on the LHR pass $ since I was "converting" a used pass to a dummy booking I had miles credit from the original. It's close, tho.
