Question reissuing buddy pass / one year expiry?

Question: bought a buddy pass 5/31/11. my buddy was not able to use it when he originally thought he was going to go back in 2011; now he wants to depart 5/15/12 and return 6/10/12. travelnet let me rebook it (new ticket #, etc.) but I am worried that the return date is more than one year from the date of the original -- could he show up at the airport for the return flight and find that his ticket is now worthless?

anyone have any experience with this? thanks.

anniversary date is 6/5 -- why would that make a difference as long as the $50 for next year is paid?

You might want to check with your travel department, I do not think his return trip will be covered. Even though your buddy will probably be able to list (most likely even fly) but since you issued the buddy pass on 5/31 his 6/10 return should not be good. Its just something that might end up costing you if they list/fly on that buddy pass after 5/31.

    Thats my opinion

As long as the pass is from this year. we usually dole out passes dated last day of the current anniversary year, then they are valid for one year within the anniversary. I have a nephew who is currently in Chile on a pass from last year's allotment. He MUST return before the DOH anniversary 2012. His ticket is valid thru 7/09/2012. After that, he can't use the pass.
We still have ALL of this year's BPs available to dole out on 7/09/2012 to use for an full year. The only trick is that they can't be reissued to diff buddies . But we stil retain all 8 passes as needed for the next year.
