    Default Gate area screen

Well I just didn't make the cut on my flight. The screen in the boarding area showed 0 seats left in F/C and 0 in Coach. Door closed. On the Stby screen, it shows 3 NR's waiting. (I was #3).
The next flt and it was also the last flight of the day was 4 hours later and its numbers were worse. So I packed it in and left. When I got home I pulled up the flight in Travelnet.
The airport stby list showed 1 open in coach. If true, one of us 3 should have got a call, right? Any opinion on this? Or travel net is not 100% correct all the time?
Also, should not the 3 of us been automatically moved to the stby list on the next flight? Didn't happen. Or must we now remind the agent to list us?

what flight? Could have been a defective seat--I've had that happen to me once. Weight issue?

Yea, there could have been a reason that 1 seat had to go out empty. The fact that the GIDS showed 0/0 leads to that probably being the case.

It is also possible that a pax was "boarded" but not physically onboard, and they caught the error just at dept time and corrected the manifest. In that case, they should have grabbed the 1st nonrev on the list. How long did you stick around?

I don't believe the list is automatically rolled over. I think the gate agent has to do that, but they would usually just do it w/o being asked.

Did the 2nd flight go out full?

The weight issue caused me to not get on an AA JFK-EZE flight before they changed from a 767 to 777. Over 30 open seats with 10 in business, only 2 people in front of me. Cargo pays the bills so all those seats went out empty. I lost out on a one night hotel deposit which I confirmed that afternoon since the flight looked so "open".
