Default Oct 6 flights from MCO- HNL

Hi. My hubby and I would like to fly from MCO to HNL on Oct 6. The gate agent said it is very slim chance. Is this a big non rev route for Delta employees? Thanks for any input.

Im pretty sure we do not have a direct MCO-HNL FLT. What route were you trying to take to HNL ATL-HNL, SLC-HNL, SEA-HNL, LAX-HNL.....

A quick check on TravelNet show mission impossible for ATL-HNL and also SLC-HNL unless you are an active employee with Vacation S2 passes. With the lists shown unless a major connecting flight cancels with its load the number of non-revs don't have much of chance. You did not indicate whether you are active or retirees or on buddy passes - the seniority date is important also. If you can find a way to get around ATL or SLC and get to SEA there is good chance that you might get on there. If you have a lot of time - General Rule of Thumb locate yourself at the airport with the first morning non-stop to your destination (ATL and SLC are not it!). So think about overnighting at one of the coastal cities and flying from that point early the next day. Return trip pretty much the same although a Red-Eye trip would be in the works. Plan on getting any seat off the island to the mainland and then using the rest of Delta's system to get you home. If active or a retiree plan on Plan "B" buying a ZED fare on another airline to get you to and from the mainland. Buddy passes you really need to think real seriously about travel to prime time destinations. It can be done but it may take a few days. In some cases it is better to buy a confirmed revenue ticket rather than waste money on hotels; meals and airport transportation waiting for that one seat that occurs on the 4th day of your vacation. Plan and choose wisely ! AND of course "The Best of Aloha Luck" !

Also I have always had good experience making it to HNL on the first flt from LAX. but it all depends on your seniority.
