I am considering standby travel with ID-75 on Malaysia Airlines from FRA to KUL in January (Leaving January 17-Coming back January 25).

I have two questions for anyone who might know the answers:
    (1) Is mid/late January a good time to try to do standby from Europe to South East Asia (Kuala Lumpur or Singapore)?

    (2) Is FRA a good place to try to standby to Kuala Lumpur/Singapore or are there other European airports that offer better chance for a person traveling on ID90 or ID75?

Please advise. Thank you very much.

You could try reposting this to Al, the Australasia/Asia correspondent. Depending upon which airline you are with you might find it a cheaper option to fly ID90 or ZED fare to SIN and then get an ID75 from there to KUL ( if thats your final destination ). Asia can be a mare to get out of so ALWAYS have a couple of backup plans.
