Hi, I'm a new poster using my mom's account. I am trying to get to Lisbon, Portugal for a 24hr karting race from July 5-11 and want to do it non-rev or ID-90. My mom flies Air Wis UA express out of IAD and from what I can tell the best airlines to go with are UA and LH to somewhere in Germany(Frankfurt or Munich etc..)then going down to LIS. I am looking for information on the best airports to leave from(IAD,ORD,ATL,etc.) and arrive at? Also any info on best tickets to get in the Star Alliance? Thanks a lot for any info, if you need more just ask,
    Brent

If you are wanting to fly UA, then any Euro port will be okay as you will have TAP flights into LIS from most Euro ports. FRA MUC and LHR seem to be the obvious choices given amount of frequency.

Don't forget TAP run double daily from EWR to LIS nonstop, and US offer daily PHL-MAD with a load of options from MAD-LIS on TAP as well.
