trying to non-rev FRA-BKK or HKG on Friday, the 5th. Fingers crossed as of now it indicates as being on time. But then again, yesterday, the 4th, the flt indicated being 8-9 hours delayed which basically going out on the 5th at 7am... Now, my airline only allows me to buy e-zed in economy cabin... how does one get upgraded ? Both BKK or HKG flights indicate as being wide open..

It DID effect TATL flts. Strike carry-over did it's damage here for my flt on 12/7. Pre-strike JFK/FRA load was 3/28. Today the load is 0/7. WTG LH--danke!

Depends on agreement (just like any other carrier, really) and maybe luck (a friend of mine from AS got upgraded on DL recently). UA can pay for a ZED in C on LH, but of course it costs more than a ZED in Y. I think most (but not all) Star Alliance carriers have some kind of agreement like this in place.

The pilots are trying to get what we all want, more pay and more benefits. Plus its a foot stomping power play with management. Dont mess with us. Even if they may be satisfied now (and they do earn a lot) they want to send the message: dont think in five years time you can outsource us or find ways to shove new contracts under our noses. which gets me to thinking, how many people in the airline industry, especially new ones, actually work FOR that airline and not some outsourced paper company

Stay away from LH for a while. Go KLM or RyanAir in Europe...

Excuse me. But why is Ryanair even mentioned in a non-rev forum. Its precisely to avoid the "ryanization" of the industry from an employee stand point. Didn't O'Leary advocate single pilot cockpits with a flight trained flight attendant to park his or her trolley and run up front to help out in case of an event

RyanAir and Easy along with Wizz are mentioned regularly. ULCC's are always welcomed to get nonrevs home..
