Default LH is Hiring...?? There Are Always on Strike...?

The Lufthansa Group is hiring more than 4,000 new employees in 2016, giving the organization a top position amongst the leading German companies. “We are proud that yet again this year the companies of the Lufthansa Group are able to offer many people an exciting new outlook and attractive working conditions in the aviation industry. For many applicants the Lufthansa Group is a dream employer. We are therefore even more pleased that we can fulfill this dream for 4,000 people,” says Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
    Flight Attendants
The main focus of the new recruiting will be the flight attendant training. In 2016 approximately 2,800 flight attendants will be hired in various locations and for different airlines of the Lufthansa Group:

    • Lufthansa 1,400 (800 in FRA and 600 in MUC)
    • Swiss 800 (in ZUR)
    • Eurowings 360 (in VIE, DUS and HAM)
    • Austrian Airlines 200 (in VIE)
    • Lufthansa CityLine 30 (in MUC)

    Lets review:

"Lufthansa cabin staff will go on strike on Thursday and Friday, their union UFO said, warning of more stoppages next Monday if the German airline's management fails to "react appropriately".

"We hope that this will finally bring serious movement in this labour dispute and that we will not be forced to also strike in December," UFO chief Nicoley Baublies said Monday of the long-running battle over pay and retirement provisions."

    http://nonrev.net/europe/19677-break...vs-beware.html
"Lufthansa cancelled hundreds of flights on Friday after cabin crew union UFO announced a walkout on flights from FRA and DUS from 14:00 CET.
On the first day of a planned week of strike action over failed pension talks, flight attendants are being called to strike at FRA and DUS until 23:00 CET, affecting around 37,500 passengers."

Well one of the grievances of the cabin and cockpit unions was the terms and contracts of new recruits, who if the company has its way, probably won't even be working for LH per se but an external outsourced firm.New hires mean lower labour costs and then hope that those with more generous contracts soon leave the fold.
