Default Air Berlin loads to/from DUS from US West Coast?

I'm trying to plan a trip leaving from SEA to Europe this summer. I need to be in Belgrade (BEG) during the last week of July. I have about three days at the end of July to go just about anywhere in Europe on the way back to SEA from BEG.

From the research I've done thus far, it looks like the most economical way to get to BEG is via SFO on Air Berlin (A going through DUS.

On the way home from BEG, I'd like to put another pin on the map for a couple of days. ATH and Rome look like options right now but just about anywhere would work if the loads allowed it.

I'm trying to save as much money as possible so I'd like to non-rev to the maximum degree though I'm not completely opposed to buying tickets if the loads are going to be terrible.

I'd appreciate any advice and insights on planning this trip. I'd especially like to get an idea of what to expect load-wise for the kinds of flights I'm talking about, particularly AB flight from LAX and SFO to/from Europe.

    Thanks in advance!

I do not see that Air Berlin flies to BEG. Also Germany has HIGH taxes to fly out of the country so that could add to cost.
Not sure who you can fly on. You can take Air Serbia direct to BEG from JFK if you can ZED on them.
If you can get to London you can fly Wizz Air from LTN to BEG for about £100 one way
If you can fly Swiss Air you might try through Zurich
If you look here, airlines to BEG, you can see who you can fly on and go from there.
Summer is always hard to non-rev in Europe due to amount of people on vacation.

Welcome aboard TS, there a seat for you down front on the aisle.
Unfortunately the Forum doesn’t have an active AB member. We do however have a member that has been of help with AB info in the past, I’ll send up a flare.
As for tips - I know that AB flies out of LAX /DUS (seasonally) a couple of days a week.
You might want to also consider JFK.
