This is for another forum member who may have trouble getting out on UA as planned due to a cancellation. If anybody could check loads on AA for HPN-ORD tomorrow (Friday) it would be greatly appreciated. The guy has no computer access, but we've been keeping in contact via text and I'll relay the message.

Hi guys,

I have a paper ZED ticket originally issued to be used on United, however my flight was full and I'm trying to use that ticket on JetBlue, which is in our agreement. However, the counter agent said I could not use it since it is issued for UA and he cannot endorse it (I listed on myidtravel). He keeps saying I need to buy another ticket at myidtravel, however we still dont use electronic zed tickets yet (all I could do is list). I was in the understanding that paper ZED tickets were endorsable on other carriers as long as they were in the agreement and it was the same zone. Is this correct?

I would appreciate any help as we are currently stranded on SFO airport in the middle of our honeymoon trying to get out of here.

Thanks

Boeing Co will cut hundreds of jobs at the South Carolina plant that makes 787 Dreamliners over the course of this year, but the move has nothing to do with the recent grounding of the troubled jetliner, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The cuts, which chiefly target contract workers, are not uncommon as productivity improves on a new airplane program and were conceived before major problems with the 787s battery surfaced, the Journal said. Two high-profile battery malfunctions led to international aviation regulators grounding the jetliner in mid-January.

AF will trim it's Cabin Crew by 500 by the end of the year.
Air France-KLM has suffered from a fall of competitiveness in recent years, under pressure from low-cost operators and the rise of airlines in the Middle East and in Asia.
In January last year, the company announced a vast restructuring plan called "Transform 2015." It set aside 471 million euros (US$610 million) under this plan to cover expenses related to cutting its workforce to boost productivity.
The workforce reduction plan aims at reducing the cabin crew strength by 500.

Hello!

I am just in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Kauai for my husband 50th birthday. We are looking to go in either April, May, or June. I am a WN employee and live in DC. I would really prefer a nonstop if possible and avoid the west coast. (will be travelling with my 5 yr old). Does anyone have advice about the east coast non stops. I.E. UA does a IAD-HNL and a EWR-HNL daily. Anyone ever tried for these? Do they ever run into weight restrictions, etc?

Any help would be very much appreciated!
The Transportation Security Administration expanded its PreCheck expedited screening program passengers with international itineraries. The program was previously available only to passengers flying domestically.

Passengers enrolled in PreCheck on select international itineraries are able to use the special PreCheck security checkpoints. The expedited screening process allows passengers to leave their shoes, belt and jackets on and liquids and laptops in their bags. They can also walk through metal detectors instead of full-body scanners.

The PreCheck program is open to passengers flying select international flights on Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United and US Airways at the 40 airports with existing PreCheck screening lines. Passengers arriving from abroad and connecting to another flight also have access to the program.

"US Airways supports the TSA's risk-based approach to improving security for travelers with programs such as TSA PreCheck. We applaud Administrator Pistole and his team on expanding TSA PreCheck to international itineraries," said Paul Morell, US Airways' vice president of Safety, Security & Environmental Programs. "The program is currently available at 27 U.S. airports for US Airways customers and now our frequent international travelers may be eligible for expedited screening when departing the United States."

PreCheck is available to U.S. citizens invited by an airline based on frequent-flyer program history and to U.S. citizens enrolled in Customs and Border Protection's Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS. Enrollment in Global Entry costs $100 for five years and requires an interview at a CBP office. For more information on the program and to find out which airports offer the expedited screening lines, visit the PreCheck website.
