If I'm flying non-rev on a CO flight from EWR to HNL and there is a problem with the aircraft and say the plane will have to land in LAX/SFO what would happen to me? Will I be stranded at the airport in SFO/LAX or would CO reprotected me.

Unfortunately, nonrev passengers are not reprotected the way revenue passengers are. Make sure you have back ups and are prepared to use them. Anytime you go on a flight that is not nonstop you take a risk that either there won't be seats on the next leg or that leg will be delayed/canceled. Hey, it's not a problem, nonreving is an adventure!

Hmm... sounds like your talking about taking a nonstop that makes an unscheduled stop so I don't think they would be loading additional passengers at the unscheduled stop. I think you would be confirmed to the destination in most cases.

Any airport folks available to chime in?

I cant answer for CO, but I work the gates for DL in PBI and when we get diversions we do not pull off anyone or allow anyone new to board...diversion cities are not listed in the line of flight for ticketing purposes and it is impossible to change passengers tickets to reflect the flight number and the city...
IE...if we get a FLL diversion (40miles from PBI) and a passenger deplanes we remove them from the weight and balance but not from their PNR so as far as the reservation is concerned they deplaned in FLL and the coupon shows flown
