Looking into sending someone for a visit from ORD to ABE via PIT with a US Airways Buddy Pass. If I were to do that it would be a total of $40 on a buddy pass round trip. Looking a bit closer, if i just set them up for a buddy pass from ORD to PIT round trip it would be about $80. This logic seems backwards to me, anyone know what the deal is?
As anyone who works for an airline will tell you - the fares aren't supposed to make sense! Actually, competition plays a large part in the price structure of a particular destination so maybe ord/pit has little competition but abe has more OR the airline could be getting a subsidy to fly out of the smaller airport thus a lower fare.
