    Default Ipad and TravelNet

anyone out there use the ipad for checking flights in Delta's TravelNet?
I have been able to use the iphone but it is very spotty on accessing standbylists.
I am thinking it has more to do with Safari than the actual iphone.
Considering the ipad but would love to hear from someone who already has it and uses TravelNet.

    Thanks

IPAD or IPOD? I'm confused here.

Ok, wife says it was an HP DREAM SCREEN. Do you know anything about those? Can you check flights on those? THese were going for around 135 bucls. It seemed to me that it was strictly only to check on your news, check email, and I really don't know what else this does. Does an IPAD check the web sites? Is it a laptop?

I don't know anything about the HP Dream, sorry.

Yes, with an ipad you can surf the web. You can do just about anything you would on a laptop with access to wifi.

I got some info on the ipad from another nonrev and it appears to work quite well with TravelNet.

    Thanks

An iPad is basically an iPod Touch/iPhone, but bigger. From what I can see about the dream screen, it seems kind of worthless... controlled by a remote for the most part (no touchscreen) and no batteries. Basically a souped up digital photo frame. Introducing HP

Thanks for those infos. I could be interested in knowing more about the IPAD. Is it cheaper than a laptop? How much do they run for and any more info you may know or good links would be appreciated. I'd like to have a tool to check flights especially in foreign countries.

Apple - iPad - See the web, email, and photos like never before. is a good place to start. I'd also suggest looking at an Apple store, looks like quite a few malls in IAH have 'em. If you're there, you can get a live demo and see what they're like. There's a "3G" model that doesn't need wifi (uses the same system as what internet-ready cell phones use) but I don't think it'd work in other countries, and there are monthly fees involved for using those networks. Wifi is another option on ALL iPads, but then you might have to pay airport wifi fees. No extra charge for free wireless access points, like at home or airports like LAS or SLC.

Just wanted to give an update. I used an ipad on my last non-rev trip to Europe. TravelNet worked fine using either 3G or Boingo in both ATL and JFK. I did not use it for wifi while in Europe. The best feature about the ipad is for viewing your photos. I bought the camera adapter before leaving and was able to transfer my photos over to the ipad every evening. When I arrived home it was an easy transfer to my Macbook. The ipad makes a great album to show your friends, as the images are amazingly crisp.

Thanks for that update. My big question to you; does it cut off the left side of the standby list like the iPhone does?
