So I have finally made it to Hong Kong and I absolutely loved it. Gong we had to fly PHX-ORD-HKG, flew out on on US to ORD and then on to HKG on CX. Flight on CX was wide wide open, I would say for the time being its the best way to go to HKG. The CX ground crew in ORD was extremely helpful, we made it to the counter with about 2 hours and change before the flight and they got us on without a fuss We got into HKG at 8:20 pm after a 15 hour and 23 minute flight (talk about long) and had to fork some dough to stay at the the Marriot SkyCity- great hotel by the way. The next three nights I redemeed some points and did The Reanaissance Harbor View near the Wan Chai metro stop. Very good location as it is located near all the Hong Kong sights. Did all the usual touristy things on that side, Causeway Bay, Up the peak, hiked the area around the peak , walked around the aviary and the numeros parks, saw the mid levels (very interesting area) nd visisited Stanley (a touristy area which requires a bus trip but worth it). Also did Ngong Ping 360 and visited the Tai-O fishng vilage. We then visited Macau, took the turbojet there, used some points and stayed at the Holiday Inn Macau. Macau is kind of a Vegas witha Cinese twist to it, on steroids of course. Walked over 10 miles that day, visited the numerous casinos and the small Portugese area around Coloane. Returned back to Hong Kong for the last day and stayed on the Kowloon side, used some points up at the Hyatt Regency Tsin Sah Tsui. Did all the markets in the area - flower market, gold fish market, ladies maerket, etc etc. All in all I spent 5 days in the Honk Kong area and absoluetely loved it. Flew back today via SFO on CX again, flight was open and we got our seats 5 hour prior to departure. Got into SFO only to be told our flight to PHX was CX, us sfo ground crew went above and beyond and got us out via SJC. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Special thanks to Nick and NickMack001 with all the updates on flights, I owe you guys big time.
