The rumor that DL would buy/merge with AS has been going on forever (it was AA years before that) but it simply won't happen. AS prefers to be independent and is making money being exactly that. I could see what would be in it for DL but what would be in it for AS? A wider network of flights? We already have that by codesharing with AA AND DL. As to B6, I could see the appeal but I don't think they want to be taken over by AS and, as stated before, we want to be the quarterback in our game.
Apologies about using AK--just a slip of the brain. I know better--shame on me! Yep, that rumor has been around the block a few times. Can't see it with B6 at all, but agree VX could be ripe to engulf and devour.
It does seem like AS and HA play VERY nice with each other, I think to the point where the employees share flight benefits even more than a ZED Low. Maaaybe that could be considered, but I think Donna has a point.

I actually do like the idea of the three airlines coming closer, maybe it's because they're all successful and have a touch of character. I'm voting for the "no way, never" option though, too much consolidation lately, it'll start to slow down IMO after US/AA reduce competition even further.
