American Airlines and American Eagle have canceled about 900 flights as a North Texas ice storm affects travel systemwide.American spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan says all of the cancellations Friday are because of bad weather in the Dallas area. Fort Worth-based American and American Eagle operate about 3,500 flights daily worldwide.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines canceled nearly 80 flights systemwide Friday. More than half of Southwest's cancellations are at its main hub of Dallas Love Field.
