Default Merged AA and US Airways to use Sabre

Ha! Finally an airline current even where I beat D2. Helps that this one is related to my work.

As expected, the merged American and US Airways will use the Sabre reservations system, which AA has been using pretty much since computer airline reservations systems have existed. I believe US had used Sabre as well years back, but switched to SHARES in its merger with America West. US Airways has been one of SHARES' largest customers, second only to United.

So what do you think happened to D2?
    A. he’s mesmerized by the white flakes coming down from the sky.
    B. he’s watching a “how to layer winter clothes” video.
    C. he’s engaged in a massive snowball fight.
    D. he’s trying to figure out snow chains.

Personally I’m going with somebody double-dog dared him.

American (with IBM) developed the Computer Reservation System in the early 1950'S. It was called SABRE (Semi Automated Business Research Environment).

I was pretty sure that was the case, but didn't feel like double-checking before posting :-P
