When you don't have ice and snow to contend with, you'd better have an impressive on-time record.

Allow me to rephrase. Ok, possible that the weather in HNL may have something to do with them at the top of the ladder of on time performances . Still think that yes its warmer with no ice or cold in HNL, however, though I am not totally familiar with Hawaiian Airlines cold weather ops situation at out stations, I suspect that Anchorage, Seattle, Tokyo, New York can have cold weather ops and Hawaiian Airlines may fly into those. Or.....or.....maybe their employees just kick butt. May be that LOCO MOCO Hawaiian Power.

My point about being in an island and you better be good on time performance I meant being Hawaii's isolation may present unique challenges. Such as ETOPS and FUEL MEASURING by known quantity, perhaps preferential island treatment of their airlines over the rest ect... Just an observational hunch from working on an isolated island myself. Maybe they are not beholding to the stock holders as we are here in CONUS. Could be the layed back attitude "Island styling it" that keeps them going. Could be their buisness decisions and keeping simple maintenance friendly airplanes.....a whole lot into the mix. And sure, their market seems to be more oriented where the blizzards don't hit.
