Canada’s Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport has opened a new commercial area for travellers, featuring a range of local and international restaurants and boutiques. The new stores, located in the public and international areas of the airport, include products from Montreal city and many of the restaurants feature local flavours and ingredients.
Aéroports de Montréal (ADM), which runs the airport, said it hopes the new zone will expand the commercial services available to passengers.
“Boutiques and restaurants have become an integral part of the airport experience and the pleasures of travel, and airports are now striving to set themselves apart by offering distinctive brands,” said James Cherry, CEO of ADM. “At Montréal–Trudeau, we made the decision to offer our passengers a unique and local experience that truly embodies Montréal and Québec, rather than something generic.”
Local stores and restaurants include sandwich bar Café Vasco da Gama, micro-brasserie restaurant Archibald, Canadian clothing store Tristan and a Cirque du Soleil boutique.
More international brands are also available including wine bar Vino Volo, smoothie bar Jugo Juice, and a Sushi Shop restaurant, among others. With the new additions, Montréal-Trudeau now has more than 90 stores and restaurants.
