Default Air Canada-non revenue pets as baggage?

I want to fly from YXE-YYC soon and need to bring a dog with me, but he is slightly to large to fit under the seat...what are Air Canada's policies for pets traveling as baggage/cargo for a nonrevenue (ZED) pax?

As for revenue passengers, there is typically a complete blackout on AVIH (pets in-hold) during the summer months. When otherwise permitted, the usual fee is CAD50, and it is subject to maximum number per flight, so, revenue customers will of course come first.

Yeah, those Canadian summers can sure be brutally hot

(in all seriousness, I assume it's related to more travelers -> more baggage)
