    Default Good ol' plan b

We're in Bali DPS. Looking at possible no seat situation, we quickly went to Plan B and opted to buy ezed for Garuda to SIN, connecting to our original plan via NRT. Just requires a few extra hours here, then shooting for some place to sleep for a few hours landside. Since we don't have printed itinerary and know we have to wait for seats (SOP at SIN) we can't even access the lounges airside. UGH. At least it's one of the most desirable airports to "shack up" for about 8 hours. Not worth taking time to leave at 10pm and go thru the motions coming back. C'est la vie!

If ever there's an airport to slum it out for a night, it's SIN. Better even than some hotels

Turned out that our Priority Pass Lounge membership is good. Off to take a shower and charge ipad. Next step will be rest and find out how to check in without going landside.

Online check-in maybe. If not there are lots of transfer desks airside at Changi

Frapos, we got very lucky. No Online checkin at SIN but the NICEST transfer desk staff at 3am, when they opened! One security guy, John Palmer, was extremely helpful. Used to work for TSA and even knew airports like CVG. He did the docs routine and waited with us for the DL agent. She was a delight, too. Changi is the way to go! Our Garuda flight was Skyteam so it was the same terminal. Great experience.

Glad things worked out (as they always normally do for you Mrs767) I think you have a direct comunication line to the non-rev Gods. And yes, Changi is ridiculously efficient. Only downside is when checking in locally, seat assignment at check-in desks landside. Then you do the olympic dash to the gate

    Glad everything worked out.

Had to to the 'dash' once at ATH airport as they too issue seats at the check-in desks. Made it to the gate in time for final boarding but lost my prescription sunglasses en route.

Going off topic here, but my strangest dash to the gate experience was at Lima. Check-in, wait landside until check in closes, then get issued standby boarding passes, dash to gate. Seat assignment at gate. Begs the question why not standby passes from beginning and do the gate wait. Or seats at check in and do the dash with the certainty of having seats
