Default Usair, revenue pax upgrade and

    Hi,
My wife and I are listed on a flight where there are more non rev ahead of us in Y than capacity, but if I count the seats in F open there are enough for all the nonrevs. I know that as a SD2R we will not and cannot get upgraded (I do not really care the most important is to be able to board). In general the agents at the airport try to fill all the seats I am not familliar with Us procedures. What happen if there is not enough Y revenue pax signing up for upgrade? Do revenue pax tend to try to get upgrades at the last minute flight for short haul international destinations?
    Thanks for your answer

It is possible to upgrade on US flights for active employees as long as you have upgrade certificates in your account. It is $10 per certificate domestic and $100 I believe for international over 3000 miles. You have to pay in advance with a credit card but can refund it if you don't use it. I would think D2R would be eligible too but I'm not sure. On US domestic elites get free upgrades but not int'l. Don't really see too many revenue pax springing for a paid upgrade especially on a leisure route.

Thanks for your answer, no we do not have access to it, maybe at he airport. The flights were so full and had a lot nonrevs ahead of us we cancelled our trip.

So you keep certificates/money in an upgrade account just in case? This is the future?
