    Cool Flight Snacks

Since non-revs always skip the expensive airport snack counters, wondering what tasty snacks you carry-on to tide you over.
I usually have granola bars, and mesquite smoked almonds - messy and you will want a bottle of water, but very good.
Exception to the rule - flights out of MSY, where I (among others) always carry a po’ boy and a box of pralines - it’s a long long flight to DFW.

I frequently make spiced nuts--almonds are pretty good vehicles for hot/sweet spice combos. There is almost always a granola bar from previous flt (or airport lounge) somewhere in the bottom of my backpack. Boss likes plums because he eats the hard as rock ones as well as my nutty creations. For short flts, I go for the peanut or pretzels.
Smoked almonds are pretty hard to beat at any time!

M7 you make your own flavored almonds, I am impressed. I pick mine up at the store.

Once in a blue moon, Trader Joe's has a Tropical Tendency Trek mix (dried pineapple, coconut, mango & mandarins) which I load up on and have for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Kind Bars are in my bag too.

Mig, no beignets departing MSY? Gotta be ready for any DFW t-storm related diversions that will make the long flight to DFW even longer!

    Nothing sadder than cold beignets.

Trust me I know, that’s why you pack a po’ boy in MSY.

I have protein bars that I always carry in case I get hungry but I also bring actual food on board for any trip longer than 2 hours. I pack a couple of apples, some lunch meat and some lettuce to wrap it in (hubby is gluten free) along with a small amount of chocolate. Yes, this is for every trip - my carry on is a back pack.
