    Default Living on the Edge...

Seems like a possibility every time we all nonrev, based on loads we THINK are correct. Hey, last night my 50 seater had 8 seats @ 10pm. Couldn't sleep so @ 4am, what to my watery eyes did appear? a negative 1 and no morning cheer. Until 8 am it still looked bleak, I sprang to the window of my ipad and I did shriek! It's zero now but full count shows 5; will I be ok?, with 3HK (grrrr%#&@*)--I'm a possible YAY? So, off to shuttle and to the Skyclub we flashed, to sit, watch again; will my hopes be dashed? Stay tuned--the sequel will later commence, hoping all will workout and I'm home again...

MrsDonna--it's that fine line between love and hate, right?
Well, I got on! Empty seat next to me went to the nice pilot I thanked for taking the jumpseat--she got a seat, after all. YAY. We had a great conversation about travel, nonrev included. Somehow we just can't escape it...wonder what color nonrev blood is?

I always say the only thing that matters is getting on the flight and staying on until wheels up. You are right, though, it is a fine line in that love/hate relationship with those flight loads.

I read this as a bad case of "Bah hum-bug" a Scrooge flight waiting to happen and then voila
a trusting effort in standby-olgy and leaving town in a jet plane in a flash.
Getting that one seat on a CRJ is something to write home about - the odds - amazing !
No matter how much you look and review the standby availability stats the proof happens at T minus seconds before last call final boarding.
Glad to hear that you survived the inquisition and escaped - dreadful to return to square 1 and start the space availability factoring all over.
