Default Round trip ezed or one way?

Just wondering if anyone has ever had an issue flying internationally on one way ezed ticket? Has anyone been told they should book a round trip? We usually book them one at a time because often we do not know our return date and sometimes the return date is too far in the future to actually list. Once while flying through CDG an employee told us we should book round trip tickets to avoid problems. So we are wondering what the problems might be and if any one else runs into this traveling internationally?

    Thanks!

No reason to book RT. Tkts are easy to refund and fairly fast, depending on the carrier. I have no clue why they would have advised that. RT just means 2 flt tkts and any changes of cities requires refund. I don't think there are any saving, but I never buy RT so maybe someone else can enlighten us all w/current reasons, if any.

You can make a one way listing for the return flight if necessary and change/refund as needed.

To avoid any refund problems with myIDtravel it is better to get the two segments separate unless there are no other alternatives with the choice of carrier. In general you can change the return date on the pnr. I never had any problems going with a OW ticket except believe or not one time in YYZ. I am a Us citizen and end up transiting there on the way home, the Canadian immigration agent asked me if I had a ticket to prove that I would leave the country, I did not have a print out of my pnr and was quite surprised by such a requirement.

Perhaps they meant to avoid problems at immigration at the destination country. By law visitors to a foreign country must have a return or onward ticket as proof of intention to leave the country afterwards. Sometimes they surprise you and ask for it. Just the beginning of this month I was transiting at BOS, international to international, CBP asked to see my connecting ticket. So I was about to show my boarding pass on my cell phone as I had checked in online before and got seat assignment immediately. She made a fuss about not switching on electronic devices so I had to talk my way out of it including showing my airline and airport ID badges

Maybe I'll book a return ezed just in case, if it's as easy to change the date as you say, it won't be a big deal. Thanks all!

But aren't you OVERSEAS already and just coming home? Absolutely no reason to buy RT ezed to come back to US.

Yes, so true! It's unlikely I'd need a "return" ticket when going back home to the States! :-)
