    Lightbulb LAX Horseshoe

Changes are coming to LAX, in an effort to reduce the awful congestion around the LAX(central terminal area) Horseshoe, Los Angeles International Airport will prohibit rideshare and taxi drivers from picking up pax outside the terminals. Arriving pax will now have to catch a shuttle bus which will take them to a "pickup/holding" lot near T1(WN) where they can connect with Lyft/Uber/Taxi.
Note: Chauffeured limousines are exempt from the new rule and will still be able to pickup their guests from the curb - after all this is L.A. *wink*
The change will take effect 3 a.m. Oct 29 and will last to 2023 when the LAX people mover is scheduled to be completed.

Considering I’ve waited up to 30 minutes for a car rental and hotel shuttle, with the first one completely full, can’t see this working out well. Traffic is a disaster and I once made it to the gate at final boarding so don’t know what the solution is.

I think hordes of arriving pax all loading their carry-ons, suitcases, backpacks and duffel bags onto a shuttle has disaster written all over it.

    Thumbs down LAX-it Update

First a little background, before LAX-it when arriving at LAX one would go straight outside (Departures level) walk out to the curb and pick up their (Uber/Lift/taxi). Time- gate to pick up maybe 10 minutes.

After LAX-it, when arriving you go downstairs to (Arrivals level) walk out to the curb, catch a shuttle which can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to reach the remote taxi/rideshare lot. Travel time depending on time of day and/or # of pax traveling with duffel bags, strollers/car seats/ skis etc. - the shuttles are packed.)
Time - gate to pick up 30 minutes to 2 hours. BTW, Uber has requested that you order your ride only when you're in the lot, in line (you'll get a pin#) which you then give to the driver when you get to the front of the line.

LAX officials have apologized for an "unacceptable level of service". Will announce changes later today.

Was in LGA 3 weeks ago and surprisingly their rideshare pickup area is well organized. Still a ways to go.

I've heard so many complaints about the new system at work. Did no one actually test this before implementing the procedure?
