Africa, Latin America and Caribbean Still Available....
All inbound flights from Europe (excluding the UK) to the US are banned for 30 days - starting Friday March 13. And don't forget all the tourists here in the US wanting to fly back to Europe, I can't image the airlines will want to fly them back and then ferry empty planes home. How will the airlines handle all this....... and in two days?????
Probably not well, Mig. My guess is it will be a madhouse where they tell people (because they will all call) that they need to get on the next plane home - in either direction - before flights stop. I would assume all carriers will temporarily upguage or add extra flights (likely both) to get everyone home over the next few days. Similar to the response after a natural disaster when they send in everything and ferry people out. I would not like to be in the flight planning department right now.
Hello, one thing I need to understand, the flights are not banned right? We might see some schedule reduction. but no cancellation? I am looking for an answer, none are clear.
My understanding is that they are actually banning flights coming from Europe for the next 30 days the same way they did for flights from China. Not enough warning, imo, but I can see the reasoning. Expect to see a flood of people going to/from LHR for the foreseeable future (at least until those flights are stopped as well).
Thanks for you answer. Not too much info indeed, except LH who said they maintain some flights FRA/ORD for exemple.
