Thread: Hawaii School Holidays

Which district? Public schools in Hawaii, particularly Oahu are vastly different. Some are traditional with the traditional breaks and summers off. Others are year-around schools with lengthy holidays along the way.

There are several school schedules for public schools in Hawaii. I know of 5 different schedules on Oahu alone. But the Department of Education does provide a web site with the school schedules for 2002-2003 and 2003-2004. Most Hawaii schools don't get an Easter break. The only day they general get is Good Friday. Some of the year-around suburban districts get a couple of weeks.

My name is Tim, I am orginally from Nebraska, but moved to Honolulu back in 1987 (hate cold weather). I've worked for DHL for the past 9 years. In addition to living on Oahu, my job takes me to all of the outer islands once a month, so I have gotten to know them as well as anyone can. I would be glad to answer anyone's questions in regard to Hawaii. When I take a couple of days off I usually head over to Kona (Big Island) or to Hana (Maui).
