Hey everyone...had a quick weekend trip away from the heat in AZ, off to visit my brother in the Cleveland area.

9/30: Took the 2:50 HP nonstop PHX-CLE. Wasn't very full, and I even got 1st class. They kept the wine flowing (even gave a plastic cup after I sat down) the whole time. I was next to a flight attendant dead-heading for a flight the next day. The movie was, "The Longest Yard," wouldn't have been my first choice...but wasn't bad. Dinner was the same as my last trip, a vegetable lasagna with a side salad. This time they gave the dessert (a chocolate chip brownie) afterwards.

When we landed I phoned my brother, who wasn't yet at the airport. We settled on meeting at the ticket counter level, which worked out great...no one else in sight there.

10/1: Did all kinds of different things with my brother, sister-in-law, and their kids (3 daughters). One of the best was a 2-hour canoe trip on the Cuyahoga River. The trees are just starting to change color, the water was cool, but the temperature was a pleasant 75 or so.

10/2: After more things in the moring, a lunch out in the town (a cute place with a waterfall in the middle of town), got my 1st choice flight back. Not First class, but at least a seat (although a middle one). Return flight got in about 30 min early.

If anyone is into Fall foliage, I'd get out in the next week or 2, it should really start to look nice.

Yeah once you tell your family you're non-revving its "call me when you get in and I'll pick you up outfront"; no one has met me inside an airport for 15 years.

Isn't that the truth! I've learned that upon landing to call, tell them that I've arrived, go to the bar and await the return phone call that informs me they're pulling up out front.
