Happy Holidays everybody.

Hope everything went safe & well for you all.
I was fortunate to be off for the good part of the week with my bidded schedule, and as always I went flying.
Why not? Loads are light if you find the right flights and don't mind going here and there so that said I'm wondering
if anyone else gets around on whirlwinds like this and if so what city are you based in and days off!! Lol. Does anyone
have some crazy trips like this to tell of?
I started out wednesday night from CVG and just kept on going, as you'll read below...

73 Hours, 22,087 Miles, $17,067.40(source-Delta.com). CVG-LAS-CVG-FLL-ATL-ZRH-ATL-SEA-MSP-MSN-MSP-DTW-CVG. Boeing 737-800, MD90, Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 757-300, DC9-30, DC9-50, ERJ145. J/F all segments except DTW-CVG (E145) Zurich/US taxes paid US$46.55

I always did trips like that. In my blog here I wrote my report of spring break last year(MDT-ATL-MXP-ZRH-MUC-TXL-JFK-ATL-DEN-ATL-SXM-ATL-PHL). I just wrote about my Round the World trip MDT-CVG-LAX-SYD-DXB-ATL-MDT. I never wrote about this but last October I flew MDT-ATL-JFK-CAI-JFK-ATL-GPT-ATL-UIO-ATL-GPT-ATL-MDT. Last August I did MDT-DTW-MSP-FAI-SLC-WYS-SLC-JFK-PHL-MDT. Also last August I flew around like nuts to surprise my aunt. I was going along with her to DAY to visit my cousin, but I snuck around the day before and went MDT-ATL-FLL, picked up my other cousin, flew FLL-CVG with him, then CVG-MDT. The next morning flew with my aunt MDT-DTW-CVG then CVG-MDT, worked 2 days then MDT-DTW-DAY spent a day then CVG-MDT.I met Jumper in SEA in May. I ZEDed on Cape Air, then the rest DL LNS-BWI-ATL-EZE-ATL-SEA-SLC-ATL-MDT. Literally got the last seat on ATL-SEA and SLC-ATL, middle seats too . Then in June I flew MDT-ATL-PHX-SLC-CDG-PIT-ATL-DUB-ATL-MDT.

I thought I was smart and decided to try the very first SYD-LAX because I figured no DL people would be in SYD yet. I flew MDT-ATL-ICN and was going to take KE ICN-SYD. I checked in and cleared, then went to the spot with free internet in ICN. Checked Travelnet and there were still 15 or so seats open, but in the 16 hours since I left ATL, I went from 5th on the list to 25th. So I figured I'd spend a day in Seoull, checked the next day ICN-ATL, WAY oversold. I logged out of that computer and sprinted back to the gate just in time and listed and cleared for ICN-ATL. I got back to ATL to see the last flight to MDT went sour, had to buy a ticket on Airtran to get home. I spent about 30 hours on planes and 3 hours on the ground in ICN.

Of course instead of driving to PHL or JFK for a flight to Europe, I'll go MDT-CVG-PHL-JFK. Actually my trip to VCE was an adventure too. Flew MDT-CVG-PHL-JFK got on the JFK-VCE, about 4 hours into the flight, just as we were crossing over St. Johns, we had some sort of electrical issue and all the lights started flickering and all the oxygen masks deployed. We turned around for JFK, but with very little 767-400 ops in JFK, the only spare a/c was in ATL. So we overflew JFK and got to ATL about 2AM, parked next to the spare which was all ready to go, and left ATL about 3AM. Got into VCE about 7PM. Then 9E broke the plane DTW-MDT on the way back, so spent a night in DTW. Ended up MDT-CVG-PHL-JFK(8 hour flight)-ATL-VCE-JFK-DTW-MDT.

We had one other guy in MDT for a few months that would fly around nuts like me, he went on my RTW trip.

It was fun to nonrev. I guess I'll mention now that I am no longer employed by Delta or any of its subsidiaries. I'll probably put up a blog with my year in review.

Aww, sorry to hear that. Your blog entries always made me wonder how you don't collapse in the middle of Kuwait on a daytrip from lack of sleep or something (if you try to tell me you sleep on the plane, I'm not gonna believe it )

Then again, I haven't nonrevved since the end of Summer 2008, but I'm at a perpetual light at the end of the tunnel for finding a new job in EAU

I like your style! Wish I could do the whole round the world thing... but even on CX we have to pay so it costs too much. Did you travel in comfort most of the way?

Speaking of which I meant to ask... has there ever been a nonrev.net get together / fly-in?

Actually I can sleep pretty well on a plane. Oddly I cannot sleep on a redeye, but I pass out on daytime flights. I just about collapsed in Dubai. I was so tired I could barely function. I sat down in a chair in the Mall of the Emirates and fell asleep for about an hour. I still travel plenty, and sometimes I get run ragged

I have to admit to being very fortunate with that. I've been on plenty of transoceanic flights, and I was only ever in Coach once. That one time was on an Emirates A380 SYD-DXB for 15 hours in a middle seat. Usually, instead of picking a place I want to go and trying to force in the flights, I'll find flights wide open in Business and go wherever they take me.

I've never heard of any get together, but it was great meeting Jumper and it would be nice to meet everyone here at some point.

and BTW, my blog post is up

Lots!

Recently, just to get from IND to MCI, I did IND-DTW-CVG-MCI.
I once flew LAS-EWR-MIA-CPT-MIA-IAH-LAS and was in CPT for about 30 hours.
I flew LAS-PHX-CMH-PHL-BOS-ZRH-GVA-ORY just to get a ride on the Iran Air 747SP.
One of my favorites was LAS-SBA-LAX-SNA-LAX-IPL-LAX-SAN-LAX-LAS all on Skywest Metroliners. Left at 7am and got back home around 10pm. Could have done more legs but we spent a few hours in SNA visiting a friend.

I am married with a child so these trips do not happen for me anymore but it is awesome to read about all of yours!

ColoAvs19--Sorry to hear you are gone...
Will miss your travel stories
How do you get the crew rate at the Sonesta in SXM? I want to go back in a few weeks.

I can also sleep like a baby on planes, even in Y.

To stay awake, you have to keep moving. I have done dozens of daytrips to Europe and then spend the whole day seeing the city but as soon as I stop, It's lights out...
