Someone wants to use the name People's Express again? I flew on them in the early 80's. You reserved ahead and paid on board with cash or a credit card (just a swipe, I'm sure they had no idea if it was valid or not when you boarded). It was an interesting experience.

Whoa, now THAT is weird to me. But I suppose the occasional deadbeat may be outweighed by cost savings of not processing tickets the normal way? So many differences, hard to make a good assessment.

My bet is on WN or maybe AA getting this one.

I flew MANY times on PeoplExpress--drove to CMH from Cincinnati, to get to EWR (oh God, that horrid old terminal!!). Ex's family lived nearby and we worked in NYC several times a year. I hated the long drive and the $19-39 OW fares were what we could afford. They didn't even swipe cards--they used a pull-down imprinter! After hours of sitting in terminals on the floors, we also had interesting experiences--ones I prefer to NEVER repeat. That's just one reason I consider myself a nonrev brat now. I used to get oodles of upgrade cards from a PIT CS rep for USAir when I was "medallion" level. I'm still trying to use those miles! Oh, how times change!
