    Default MSP Hotels

Hey, gang--who's got the skinny on MSP hotels? Looking for shuttle, preferable restaurant/wine store in walking distance. No interest in Mall of America. Just nice, decent option for overnight before we head to Asia. Checked out crew hotel but @ $239+tax, fugedabowdit. Midweek stay. Thanks for any referrals.

Did the crew hotel not give you a leisure rate? The crew hotels we have there show leisure rates below $80. I know this depends on availability, and yes, if you go to the website the hotels are over $200.
Try Radisson Blu Mall of America phone 952-881-5258 and Best Western Plus Bloomington phone 952-854-8200. Best Western says yes for shuttle, Radisson says no, shuttle operated by hotel-that statement does not make since.

Sheeeee.........IT! Where the crew stays are a ripoff. Don't forget, they get it for free, paid for the by company. Our pilots for instance on their contract, hotel has to cost so much dollars per night. They don't do DAYS INN and HOLIDAY INN or RAMADA INN. I stayed at DAYS INN MSP for 38 bucks airline discount with SHUTTLE SERVICE and RIGHT NEXT TO MOA. Ok, not perky, nothing fancy, but it was just right for me. You gotta be care though. There are two Days inn there last time I went, I stayed at the one that was better. This was probably some 4 or 5 years ago. The one walking distance to TGIF's, and right next to the MOA.

Radisson Blu Mall of America is right next to the Mall. And there's a light rail train that goes from the airport to the mall. If you can get a good rate there, I would strongly suggest taking the train to the Mall and walking around slightly to get to the hotel. Really, not that bad.

If I were still in MSP (haven't really been since I started college) I would totally offer you a ride or even a place to crash. But I was born and raised in Bloomington, and my parents are still there, so I know the area really well and can help you out with the neighborhoods a bit.

Thanks, all. The hotels are quite full midweek. Found Country Inn and Suites for less than $100 tax included. Many just don't have crew rate available. Apparently the waterpark is adding to the MOA back-to-school shopping mania. I dug thru several major chains (midrange $) and there wasn't much open. Didn't really want some Motel6 or Knights Inn...
Problem solved and the suggestions helped alot.

Now that I think about it, I believe my best friend's dad might work there as a shuttle driver. I should find out. Curious, when are you staying?

Oh! One thing that may change your mind about looking at MOA: Minnesota does not charge sales tax on clothing!
