    Default Zed lax/jfk - advice

    Hi Guys!

Hope you are well. I am new to non-reving in the US so just was wondering if some experienced travellers could help me out

Has anyone experienced ZED/non rev/buddy pass travel on the LAX/JFK and vice versa route before? Any tips? I have heard stories where ZED ticket holders get stuck because they are bottom of the pecking order.

I am looking to travel end of Nov.

Thanks for your help! Really appreciate it!

    Tess

End of November? Holiday travel? Very tough route. The most demanding in the USA. Everybody fights for this route. Might have to detour to LAS, SLC, even PHX to get back east. Or you can Start with the first flight out..

yes, holiday travel last week of nov. I was hoping that with the sheer amount of flights btw the two cities I could get lucky but thinking I might just have to get a commercial fare

Uh,,,yea might have to. I'll say a prayer to the Nonrev Gods. In the meantime, plan B. B6 has the cheapest fares to JFK according to Farecompare.com. Standby flights, AA/US, DL,UA, and Virgin America all have seats after 11:00pm flights. So I would bounce between T4 - T7..This is for Friday into Saturday (11/28,29).

Besides JFK, I would also look into LAX-EWR and LAX-XXX-LGA. Might need to get creative with connecting somewhere in between or going to an airport on the east coast like BOS, PHL, DCA, IAD, etc and nonrevving from there or taking ground transportation. As others have mentioned, that is the busiest time of year for travel in the US. Might be ok Fri and Sat. Many employees end up buying tickets on their own airline. Try for the first flight of the day and hope for people who oversleep.

As you probably know, the powers that be terminated the ZED agreement between EK & AA.

    Good luck!

The EK/AA agreement is gone? Really? Looks like I can still get the tickets though? Strange.

I'm half minded to fly via DXB now just so I can fly directly into JFK.

Do you guys think trying to grab a flight LAX-JFK on Sunday 23RD Nov with ZED would be a bad idea?
