You know you're from Arizona if...
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
you can say 115 degrees without fainting.
you notice your car is overheating before you drive it
you think someone driving wearing oven mitts is clever.
you think six tons of crushed rock makes a beautiful yard.
hot air ballons can't go up, because the air outside is hotter than the air inside.
you can pronounce the words: Saguaro, Tempe, Gila Bend, Cayon de Chelly and Mogollon Rim.
you have recurring nightmares about falling Saguaros. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
you're obsessed with finding covered parking.
you carry (a just in case) comb, tweezers and pliers when you take your dog our for a walk.
you no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water.
you've heard about mosquitoes but never actually seen one
your best beach list is all hotel pools. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
you can tell the difference between a dog and a coyote even at 1000 yards at midnight
and finally you know you're from Arizona when your house is made of stucco and styrofoam. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif[/list]http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emotic...on_biggrin.gif

Very clever (and true!). You missed the fact that Arizonans will park at the furthest end of the parking lot to be under a scraggly tree providing very little shade during the middle of the summer. Oh, and I can pronounce all of those words (Canyon de Chelly is canyon de shay) including Hohokam the correct way. And that oven mitt thing? I've seen people drive with as few fingers as physically possible while waiting for the car to cool down! Maybe I've lived here too long?

I forgot to mention that we do have mosquitoes now that Tempe has a town lake (don't get me started on that one) but I do, indeed, PAY for covered parking at work. I have my own space for which I pay $100 a year. It's worth it!

$100 a year? You're lucky, reserved parking in downtown Chicago is about $100 per day!!! (Okay, so I exagerate a little - but just a little!)

This isn't a downtown location - it is a gated parking lot that only has a few covered spaces. Parking normally is free and they have a waiting list for assigned parking spaces. No one else can park in my spot and I appreciate the shade.

Donna please tell me your great covered parking spot doesn't involve a cactus or a cloud. http://www.nonrev.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
