Today, I and my wife couldn't get US flight to LAX(All flights were full), so we went America West check-in coutner.
We tried to say that we were non-rev passengers, but an agent, who was old African American lady with nice mustache, didn't give us a chance to say anything, and she kept saying, "Give me your last name. Give me your last name". (Very nice attitude. Isn't it?)
Of course, we gave her my last name, but she could not find it from the system because we did not listed yet. Then I started to explain, and asked her to check status of any flights to LAX. All of sudden, she said I'm very rude to her.
I and my wife looked each other, and we were speechless for a minute.
I talked to her that I was not rude and I just explained something to her, and there was reason to do that to her, but she did not agreed. (I don't know what's wrong with her.)

Before we left there, I said one thing to her.
"I can't wait to see you in my flight."

Well, I will give personalized announcement for her.
"Beautiful lady on the seat XXX needs to shave her mustache"

I did non-rev travel for years, and this is the first time I had really bad experience from an agent. I also see more and more unprofessional people in this field.

    Have a safe trip everybody.

I'm really puzzled when you mention going from the US Airways counter to the America West counter in PHL, since the counters were supposed to be merged there 2+ months ago. Did you try just asking the US agent about HP flights?

FYI, HP had contracted out most of its services in PHL to CO, I was under the impression that ended. So if you did indeed go to an HP counter, it could have been a CO employee who wasn't totally familiar with the HP process.

Sorry. I did not post full detail story.
The counter merged in PHL, but system did not.
I mean USairways agent could put us in America West flight from USairways counter, but they could not see load status from there. Since all Us flights to LAX were full, the agent advised us to go America West counter and check the flights before put our names on HP flights.
So, we did. Well we actually tried.
If you read my original post carefully, it's not happen because she wasn't familiar with something.
