It seems to happen every time I fly - within a couple days of taking a trip, I get sick - not just a little but full blown nasty wet lungs, aches and fever. Needless to say this blows through my sick time even though they know I'm not faking (I valiantly drag myself in and promptly get sent home before I vomit into the wastebasket next to my desk!)

I LOVE short hops, but I can't afford to get sick after every trip! Help!!

Have you tried those "preventive" products--the ones teachers and FA's use? My husband never uses them, but I see them sold everywhere. I wonder if they would help at all?
PS--Glad I don't work in your office or anywhere near your wastebasket!!
Do you have kids? If not, that could be the reason--darling little creatures bring all kinds of crap home--parents get immune to all that stuff?
PSS--where did you go? and sorry you got sick.

No kidlets - I went to NY for a birthday trip. SEA - DTW LGA, then HPN, DTW SEA.

I always suck up the OJ on flights and funny enough, it DIDN'T Happen on my Vegas trip, but I got first class for 3 of the 4 legs of the trip.

I'm in the Seattle res office, so a phone voice is a must. Saturday night I was croaking like a toad, and Sunday afternoon, I was gasping. They actually sent me home as I sat down and started weeping at my desk - I do that every time I get sick.

Jumper, try using a saline nasal spray on your fights, drink one of those immunity drinks ( I like DanActive) a couple days before/after your flight and take your vitamins.

That happened to me twice when I came back on trips from Brasil, its a bummer!
One morning I woke up before landing at ATL with a sore throat and that was it till I caugh the flight to CVG and on there it really started hitting me. By the evening, just laying on the couch not moving my body hurt, not ached but hurt!
Apparently I had strep.. and was probably the same thing three weeks earlier my doctor said.
I drink straight whiskey for that when I get a cold. Doubt it does much but feels strong enough to kill

Whiskey would be good about now - Tomorrow I'm dragging my butt to the clinic - it's NOT getting any better...
