Default AA to test new boarding format. What Do You Think?

American Airlines has begun testing a new boarding process that would let passengers with no carry-on bags board earlier. The procedure is being testing at four airports--AUS, IAD, BWI, and FLL.
Customers with NO carry-ons can board between Group 1 and 2, he said.
"As we build toward a new, modern American, we are continually looking at ways to provide customers with a better, more convenient travel experience that keeps them at ease throughout their journey with us,". "This boarding test is one more example of the progress we're making to provide our customers with an exceptional travel experience as we leverage innovation to evaluate and improve every step of the customer journey."
    It is a limited test.

Customers are already calling us to ask if we would consider something similar so I suspect this will be popular. AS has a process by which (on full flights) we invite those who have small carry-on size bags to gate check them in exchange for priority boarding. It is extremely popular.

The question I would like to ask is "What is a small carry-on? A oversize purse? Briefcase? Dakine Skate Bag???"

A small carry on would be your normal carry on bag. It has to be something that you would not normally be required to check.
