Cool Things an American learned in England

Scott Waters is an American tourist who has enjoyed several trips to England.
Here are a few of his observations about life in England:

    The pubs close to early

Everything is generally older, smaller and shorter

The English are as crazy about their gardens as Americans are about cars

Everything comes with chips, which are French fries. You put vinegar on them

Look right, walk left. Again look right walk left. You’re welcome.

    They can boil anything

There are too many narrow stairs

You’re better like peas, potatoes and sausage

Avoid British wine and French beer

Their coffee is mediocre but their tea is wonderful

When I was in London, I was constantly looking right and stepping off the curb, my English friend saved me several times by jerking me back onto the curb just before a vehicle zoomed by....the high point of the trip was a visit to the original Hard Rock Cafe :-) I collect their menus...I have : DCA, CUN, HNL, LHR, EYW, MCO, ...I've been to many more but sometimes it is difficult to "collect" one.....

...and the departure taxes are the most expensive in Europe. Maybe the world?? Especially if sitting up front.
