Thumbs up AMT Day - May 24

A salute to the men and women who take on the task of keeping the aircraft safe to fly.

Aviation Maintenance Technician Day (May 24) a day “to honor the professional men and women who ensure the safety and security of our airborne infrastructure, and recognize the life and memory of Charles E. Taylor, the aviation maintenance technician who built and maintained the engine that was used to power the Wright brothers first controlled flying machine on December 17, 1903.”
--US House of Representatives – April 30, 2008

The Wright brothers dreamed of flying, but it took mechanic to make it happen.

You might be an aircraft mechanic if.......

You've been couched down fixing a seat only to glance up and see pax boarding the aircraft.

You've "scuba dived" a lav tank to remove everything under the sun.

You're told someone that you're an aircraft mechanic only to have them say, "But not on the engines.....right?"

You know what skydrol tastes like.

You have little yellow earplugs all over the house.

    And finally,
you might be an airline mechanic if you have a mini Maglite, a Leatherman on your belt, a toolbox with stickers and talk enthusiastically about aviation.
